Case Study β $1B+ Multi-Brand Apparel Holding Company
No Samples. No Shoots. Production Volume Doubled in Six Months.
1500 SKUs produced. Sample production, shipping, and photography costs eliminated.
The Problem
The in-house photo studio was a bottleneck. The brand portfolio needed more imagery than the studio could produce, and sample production costs were rising under new tariff pressures. Time-to-market was constant friction across the portfolio.
The Innovation team had a specific vision. They had built a digital-first design workflow: every garment rendered in 3D, photorealistic, before a physical sample was produced. The goal was to pair those digital garments with a digital model and eliminate the sample-to-shoot pipeline entirely. The idea was right. Finding a partner whose workflow could meet it was the hard part.
The Evaluation
The team was running production with another AI imagery platform when they first spoke with Flock AI. That platform had two structural failures they couldn't engineer around.
First, it required real models, not AI-generated ones. The real-model catalog was limited and expensive to expand. Second, preset model poses created brand-critical failures. In one case, a swim category logo couldn't be showcased because the model's arm position blocked it. A vendor that can't handle a logo placement doesn't survive creative-director review.
Flock AI stayed in contact after the first conversation, upgraded the workflow, and came back. The team ran a proof of concept. The decision followed quickly.
βThe POC performance was night and day. Our teams were amazed by the quality improvement.β

What Flock AI Delivered
Flock AI sits directly inside the customer's digital-first design process. Their team produces 3D photorealistic garment renders. Flock AI pairs those digital garments with AI models trained to each brand's aesthetic standards. The output goes through the same brand review any traditional photography would. No physical sample is produced, shipped, or shot for SKUs running through this pipeline.
Custom AI models are calibrated to the standards of each brand in the portfolio.
- Hardware close-ups
- Stitch reproduction
- Lighting
- Logo placement
The whole-image standard, not just the garment silhouette. Brand DNA encoded before a single image is produced, so the output looks like the brand took the shoot itself.
As the pipeline matured, the team moved Flock AI from PDP into marketing and campaign imagery, with formal kickoff meetings per campaign. The workflow held without breaking stride.
The Outcome
2x production volume within six months.
Production volume doubled within six months of the proof of concept. The in-house studio is no longer the gating constraint. Sample production, shipping, and photography costs have been eliminated for every SKU in the Flock AI pipeline.
Internal demand is the clearest signal. Brands inside the portfolio are actively asking to be added. The Innovation team has been deliberately gating expansion to avoid overwhelming production capacity. That is the problem most vendors would want to have.
The partnership has since expanded into marketing and campaign work across multiple brands in the portfolio, with continued growth in scope under a renewed contract.
